Analog Devices Inc. ADZS-SC58x Evaluation Systems

Analog Devices Inc. ADZS-SC58x Evaluation Systems aid designers in the development and testing of the ADSP-SC58x family of SHARC® processors. Based on ADI's SHARC+ cores and DSP accelerators, the ADSP-SC58x family features an ARM® Cortex-A5 processor as well as FPU and Neon® DSP extensions to handle additional real-time processing tasks and manage peripherals used to interface to time-critical data in audio, industrial closed-loop control, and industrial sensing applications. The ADSP-2158x family is specifically designed for applications in which a DSP co-processor is exclusively required along with two SHARC+ cores and a peripheral set matched to a DSP core.

The ADZS-SC58x evaluation tools are available as packaged kits, the ADZS-SC584 EZ-KIT Lite and ADZS-SC589 EZ-KIT Lite.

The ADZS-SC58x EZ-KIT Lite includes CrossCore® Embedded Studio (CCES) and the ICE-1000 emulator. Working in conjunction with CrossCore Embedded Studio®, the emulator offers state-of-the-art support for all JTAG-compliant Analog Devices processors using CoreSight™ from ARM. The CCES development environment aids designers with advanced application code development and debug functions.

The ADI ADZS-SC58x Evaluation System encompasses the EV-SOMCRR-BRKOUT SOM Carrier Breakout Board. The EV-SOMCRR-BRKOUT breakout board provides access to all 300 connector pins on the audio processor System-on-Module (SOM) evaluation boards. Simply connect the breakout board between the SOM board and the carrier board to provide convenient probing and wiring points to modify, test, and take measurements on the full evaluation system. The EV-SOMCRR-BRKOUT can be used with any EZ-KIT® bundle.

The Audio Project Fin is an expansion board that provides a control surface with additional connectivity and signal accessibility for the SHARC® Audio Module. It can be used to directly create a control surface for the SHARC Audio Module and can also be used to develop your own I/O and control interface for the SHARC Audio Module.

The A2B Class-D Amplifier Module leverages ADI's low-latency A2B audio bus technology, featuring an AD2428W A2B transceiver (serving as an A2B slave) that accepts audio over the A2B bus from a connected A2B node in the system. The ADZS-AUDIOA2BAMP Module drives the received A2B data to a pair of high-efficiency, digital input, stereo SSM3582 class-D audio amplifiers. Audio is transmitted digitally to the amplifier, minimizing the possibility of signal corruption in digital environments.

The SHARC® Audio Module is an expandable hardware/software platform that enables project prototyping, development and deployment of audio applications including effects processors, multi-channel audio systems, MIDI synthesizers, and many other DSP-based audio projects. This board is designed to be used in conjunction with the CrossCore® Embedded Studio (CCES) development tools. The development environment aids advanced application code development and debug.
