STMicroelectronics IPS1050L M0T5 VIPower Switch offers a monolithic architecture in an assembled QFN-32L (6x6) package. The single low-side switch can drive capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to the supply rail (Low Side Switch). The logic supply voltage is suggested in the range of 6V to 10V, with an AMR on the output stage that can reach 65V.

The STMicroelectronics IPS1050L Switch can set up to eight different current limitation levels, selectable via the usage of IPDx pins, with the possibility of performing static or dynamic overload detection and current limitation. In static overload detection mode, the current limitation level is selected by setting the pins IPD1, IPD2, and IPD3 to High (=3.3V) or Low (=SGND). Meanwhile, dynamic output current limitation can be activated by connecting the IPDX pin to SGND through a capacitor (CPDX), which defines how long the initial level (ILIM(I)) remains active before the steady-state limitation level (ILIM(S)) is activated. After the inrush current phase, the embedded overload protection can limit the steady-state output current to the ILIM level, featuring both IC and load protections.

The very low RDS(ON) (25mΩ typ) and the four-level smart overload protection, based on the configuration of the pins IPDX, make the IC ideal for applications requiring high inrush current (up to 25A) and with different configurable steady-state operating currents.
